As part of our religion class work with the chaplain, Miss Dunne we got the opportunity to help the national school students who are making their confirmation this year prepare for their day. Each religion class we would learn off sheets and different activities to do with the students. The students came every Thursday morning at 9:40. In class we would each read small parts and Miss Dunne would explain it to us so we could help the students understand on Thursday mornings.
Most people got a different group each week but I remained in the same group. There were 4 students and two TY's. The students were Olivia, Katie, Sarah Lily and Bernie. For three weeks the other TY in my group was Aoife Woods and for one week only Aonraoi helped me.
We spoke about why they chose their confirmation name, the sacraments our parish and so much more. We completed games and word searches as well. It was lots of fun helping the students prepare for their confirmation. I also enjoyed remembering all the work and fun I had preparing for my confirmation.
Overall, I really enjoyed working on this project. I felt that it really helped me to mature. We were trusted by the teachers to be responsible and do all the work necessary. I would definitely do this again if given the chance.
